That's not a Rough Green Snake, even though it IS green and it does have "rough" scales...look at the eyes. Rough Green Snakes are harmless North American snakes, and have round pupils. This is one of the Palm Pit Vipers, quite venomous. You can easily see his infrared pit in front of his eye, too. I wouldn't recommend that the kids play with this. Nice to see a pic of one, though, since they aren't a commonly-kept captive species.
